Low Croft Cottage (Sleeps 4)
LOW CROFT COTTAGE is situated in a quiet mews courtyard in the centre of Grasmere village. It has the advantage of one parking space where you can leave your car whilst you explore the village and the surrounding area. It is possible to park up on arrival and not use the car again until you leave. All walks start from the village centre - Helm Crag, Silver Howe, Loughrigg, Easedale Tarn, Alcock Tarn and of course Helvellyn. There are too many walks to list. Low Croft is also close to the shops, restaurants, pubs and bus stops. The lake is close by where you can hire rowing boats. You can also explore the area by bicycle which you can leave in the utility room.
The cottage which is over 100 years old was part of the old drill hall where numerous activities took place over the years. It was renovated by ourselves in 1990. The original beams and roof angles have been retained to preserve the character of the building which is spacious and airy.

The entrance porch with flower tubs leads into the ground floor entrance which has a large storage cupboard and coat rail. The staircase leads to the comfortable first floor open plan living area. This is well equipped with cosy suite, 32" television with freesat, dining area and a recently installed kitchen with cooker, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The oak floor in the kitchen area compliments the kitchen. It is ideal for relaxing in after those long walks.
The utility room with washer/dryer and ironing facilities is also accessed from the entrance porch via a separate door. There is ample storage space for all your walking equipment as well as bicycles in the rack provided or even your canoe.
The two bedrooms with the original beams and roof angles are on the second floor. There are two bedrooms - one double and one twin with duvets, bed linen and towels provided.
A good nights sleep is guaranteed as you are tucked away in this quiet corner.
The bathroom has a three piece suite complete with shower over bath and heater.
There is night storage heating throughout and all electricity and bed linen is included in the rental.

Low Croft has been a holiday cottage looked after by ourselves for the past 24years. It is furnished, decorated and cleaned to a high standard. We want our guests to relax from the start of their stay at Low Croft.
